Today the most perspective technology for the construction of buildings and structures is monolithic construction. It is characterized by the construction of concrete structural elements using formwork, which is a special form where the mortar is poured directly at the construction site. Thus, an absolutely rigid frame is made of various types of enclosing structures. Also, the technology involves the use of expanded polystyrene, which is lightweight and easy to install insulators. Recently, reusable collapsible formwork has become popular. They are commonly used in the construction of administrative-type houses or buildings with a large number of floors.
The technology is thought out in such a way as to speed up the process of building construction, reduce current estimates due to speed, as well as simplify the technology, using a minimum of techniques and low-cost materials. The finished design has improved heat saving, as it eliminates the presence of bridges of cold and sound insulation, has a lower weight and greater strength. Indisputable advantages include the ability to apply a wide variety of architectural decisions. Among the disadvantages, it is worth mentioning the complexity of the work in winter.
By the way, in the 30s of the last century, Ukraine already had the experience of monolithic construction Then came the time of brick and era of panel housing construction. For many years preference was given to prefabricated construction.
By the way, in the USA and EU countries, the number of buildings made of monolithic concrete is 60-80% of the total construction volume. In Ukraine, monolithic housing construction is developed many times less.
